Black Lives Matter Mural 2022

The campus call for mural submissions was an exciting opportunity to have GDDM students get involved. I created an assignment in my ATS 341 Digital Illustration course for each student to submit a design concept and artist statement with their submission. I collaborated with the Dowd Gallery director, Jaroslava Prihidova, to decide on the format and introduction to the call. I invited Lorraine Lopez-Janove to speak to my class to give a background of this project and its importance. The finalists were three students GDDM students: Shannon Delaney ‘22, Vanessa Leon Basurto ‘22, and Kat Kressner ‘22.
